Scavenger Hunt- Colors

I'm participating in Ashley Scavenger Hunt Sunday! It has been a while since I've participated and I'm so happy to be back.  This weeks prompts were colors.  Clearly I need simple prompts to participate.  So here goes.

Red

Tiny in his RED sweater I knitted for him.

Orange

I wish this picture wasn't out of focus, but I love it anyway.

Yellow

Brady got off the bus yesterday with a yellow balloon he had gotten at his class party. Within seconds of getting off the bus the wind took it and up into a tree it went. He was devastated.

Green

I bought this decoration for my mom for Christmas. It seemed like something that was perfect in her house.

Blue

I sweet piece of blue sea glass.

Fingers crossed next weeks hunts prompts are more colors and maybe I can include Brady.

Have a great weekend!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday!

I don't know who is more excited today. Me for participating in the Scavenger Hunt Sunday again, or Tiny who woke up to see snow on the ground.  Tiny was so excited that there was snow he ran up and down the hall and woke up his brother cheering about the snow.  By noon it has all melted.  I was excited myself for the snow because I have really wanted to get some pictures of the alpacas in the snow.  In the morning we had about half an inch of snow and it was melting quickly.  So when I went to the farm to clean up today I brought my camera with me. I seldom bring it because it turns my cleaning time from one hour to two hours :)  But the boys were home with Freddy so I couldn't resist taking a little extra longer today.

So on with the hunt....

1. Breakfast
All of the boys have been put together in one fieldBlue loves it when I feed him his hay by hand.  But with all the boys in one spot now they tend to push him around and our happy quite time together just doesn't happen.  So I usually put a little hay in my pocket in case we get a chance out in the field away from the rest of the boys to get his special hand out.  However the rest of the boys are onto me and they take advange to get a little extra breakfast

 2. Multi-Colored
Reno's face used to seem solid white, but as his fleece is growing in it now looks multi-colored.

3. Starts with the letter "C"- Chew

4. Roll (Roll Call)
I wanted so bad to get a picture of all the boys in the snow.  It was melting so fast so I called them all to one spot in the field that still had snow.  I love that they follow directions so well.

5. Future
In the spring Awan and Blue (as well as the rest of the herd) will be sheered and we'll turn their fleeces into yarn and then I will knit myself some wonderful new sweaters.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday- With Power!

We got our power back!!!!

After almost two weeks of no power we finally have it back.  As soon as it came on I ran to the thermostat and turned on the heat!  I started the laundry, loaded the dishwasher, took a hot shower, blew dry my hair with a hair dryer, and vacuumed everything!  I am so happy to say it is still on and we are so happy.

Last night was the first time in weeks I got to sleep in my own bed. I have been sleeping on the pull out couch bed and mostly my recliner. My back has been so stiff.  So it felt so good to sleep in my own bed all warm and cozy. I feel bad for all the people who still don't have their power. But we are enjoying ours to the fullest!

Okay on with the Scavenger Hunt.

Nature

I was down in the dumps, no electricity and trying to do some damage control I wasn't in the best mood. I got a text from my friend Debbie she wrote "look outside".  It was a beautiful sunset! I would have missed it if she didn't tell me. It turned my mood right around and I felt so much better.

Vintage

We found blue sea glass and this really old shell. It looks like a fossil it seems so old. I'd love to take it to someone who could give me an idea of how old it is. Yes that is snow at the beach.

Whimsical

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a chickadee! Hee hee the hurricane brought my birds back after months of being away.  I love how the chickadee looks like a bullet.

Cooking

Not having power we had to get creative how to heat things up.  This pizza tasted so good. We did all our cooking and heating up on the wood burning stove.

Weeks Best

Again we are so grateful to have power back!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday- Giants Style

Yesterday Freddy and I went to the Giants Redskins game. We got free tickets!!! It was so much fun. We met up with some friends at the game and had a great time tailgating and the game we so exciting.  I wasn't going to bring my camera, but I'm so glad I did. So here goes the Scavenger Hunt Giants Style.

1. Pink

 2. Faceless Portrait

Okay so maybe that wasn't a faceless portrait, but it is all I had to stick with the game theme.

3. View from the Top

The camera crew has the best seats in the house.

4. Cozy

This Redskin fan was not feeling cozy in a sea of Giants fans. hee hee. He is our friend, which I think makes this picture even funnier. He had no idea I took the picture.

5. Stacked

It is amazing the way the players get stacked up.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I am SUFFERING from allergies. Suffering is an understatement.  I haven't been able to swallow without feeling like glass is slicing open my throat for over a week. The pain in my ears is just terrible and my head has felt like it is going to explode.  I hardly ever go to the doctors, but I deemed my condition as doctor visit worthy. So I went to the doctors on Thursday and he informed me it was allergies. He gave me a list of medicine that should help me and sent me on my way.  I have been so sick I haven't even felt like knitting! Oh the horror. Are you still with me. I don't mean to go on and on complaining, but really I'm ready to be better. So last night I looked it the mirror and my eye has proven what I have litterally been feeling like my head is exploding. It is just about complete blood red. Not blood shot but bloody. It looks like a horror scene. I have a small amout of white well the tiny amount of white is pink and the rest of my eye is swollen and bloody.  So I called the doctor up on a Sunday and asked what I should do. He still thinks it is allergies and to take a picture of it and if it isn't getting better by tomorrow then to come into the office.

I took pictures of it and almost fainted. I'd post them but you would never come back to my blog ever again. I am sure of it.  So with all that said. I haven't been taking many pictures this week, so I dug around some of my files for this weeks prompts.

I almost wasn't going to participate, but I visited Debbie's SHS post and decided I have to participate.  So here goes.

Shadow

Tiny was kissing his shadow.

Keys

Debbie from It's All About Purple came to visit the alpacas back in July. It was about ten-thousand degrees that day. Debbie always jokes about how she trespasses to get pictures.  But she doesn't need keys to get onto our farm she is always a welcomed guest. Be sure to swing by Debbie's blog to see her pictures she was actually taking this day.

Smile

My big boy turned 5!

Undedited

This picture just makes me laugh everytime I look at it.  This is our friend's daughter and she is a total crack up.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Have you ever watched the movie "Overboard"? If you haven't seriously why haven't you? Okay so my favorite part of the movie is when the mother is laying on the couch completely out of it (because she really isn't their mother) and the father comes home and the little boy says, "I like it when she goes Bub Bub Bub" and he is tossing grapes at her head. Then the father proceeds to pick her up and dunk her in the cold water on the front porch.  I'm in the Bub Bub Bub moment.  This weekend was my parent's farm open house. I am the lucky one to work the register.  So somewhere between talking to over 500 people and keeping track of where my kids are all in the course of 12 hours the weekend was a huge success! I'm sure there were well over 500 people, but I guess that I talked to that many people.

So first thank you to everyone that helped out with my boys!!!! Especially Aunt Kari you are the best!  I'll write more about the open house in another post, but I had to say thank you to everyone that came out to support my parents farm! It is like a dream to see so many people in one place so happy and appreciating what we get to have everyday. There are so many amazing people out there that came out to support our farm. Amazing people that I am so grateful to get to meet. Hooray for alpacas!

Okay finally on to the Scavenger Hunt.

Yellow

Look at the footwear! I love this couple. I wish I knew who they were.

Getting Ready

Okay if I saw the sky looking like that I would not be heading out to sea.

Bright

I was going to use this as getting ready. But these boats were getting ready to head out to sea with their bright lights on.

Teeny Tiny

My Dad holding his newest grandson.

Connections

A shawl I jut finished knitting. I did so many cable-less cables and connecting them all was mind boggling. But I didn't mess up once. So huge success!

I'm joining with Ashley's Scavenger Hunt Sunday I hope you do too!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday 9/23/12

How is it the end of September? That went fast.  We spent yesterday in New York at my niece's baptism. It was a wonderful day and we had such a good time playing with our cousins, relatives and friends that we don't get to see very often.  Okay on with the hunt.

1. Cracked

He "cracked" a smile.

2. Fallen

Well my nephew didn't really fall he was making rubber mulch angles. hee hee hee. I love kids.

3. Ordinary Color

The color of the sky at sunset. Look even dogs like watching the sunset.

4. Bokeh

Oh I love that face.  How sweet is he? I love the bokeh (blurred out of focus areas) I got with this swing shot.

5. Fence

I'm very excited that my kids are finally feeling better. Hopefully I'll finally get to see my newest nephew today!!!  I got to see him for a few minutes in the hospital, but that was it.  I can't wait to ambush him for a photo shoot.

Happy Sunday and I hope you have a great day!
