Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Have you ever watched the movie "Overboard"? If you haven't seriously why haven't you? Okay so my favorite part of the movie is when the mother is laying on the couch completely out of it (because she really isn't their mother) and the father comes home and the little boy says, "I like it when she goes Bub Bub Bub" and he is tossing grapes at her head. Then the father proceeds to pick her up and dunk her in the cold water on the front porch.  I'm in the Bub Bub Bub moment.  This weekend was my parent's farm open house. I am the lucky one to work the register.  So somewhere between talking to over 500 people and keeping track of where my kids are all in the course of 12 hours the weekend was a huge success! I'm sure there were well over 500 people, but I guess that I talked to that many people.

So first thank you to everyone that helped out with my boys!!!! Especially Aunt Kari you are the best!  I'll write more about the open house in another post, but I had to say thank you to everyone that came out to support my parents farm! It is like a dream to see so many people in one place so happy and appreciating what we get to have everyday. There are so many amazing people out there that came out to support our farm. Amazing people that I am so grateful to get to meet. Hooray for alpacas!

Okay finally on to the Scavenger Hunt.

Yellow

Look at the footwear! I love this couple. I wish I knew who they were.

Getting Ready

Okay if I saw the sky looking like that I would not be heading out to sea.

Bright

I was going to use this as getting ready. But these boats were getting ready to head out to sea with their bright lights on.

Connections

A shawl I jut finished knitting. I did so many cable-less cables and connecting them all was mind boggling. But I didn't mess up once. So huge success!

I'm joining with Ashley's Scavenger Hunt Sunday I hope you do too!

Here Fishy Fishy

I'm glad to report that my salt water fish tank transfer went smoothly.  I converted my 90 gallon tank down to a 30 gallon tank.  Holly molly it is so small!  But it is just the right size to fit in my Living Room, so now I get to look at it all day.  I love, love, love it.  The boys love it too and I think the fish are so happy to have more to look at.  The 90 gallon tank was downstairs in a room I try to keep the boys out of as much as possible.  That way we always have one clean room in the house.  But more often than not after they are in there for five minutes it is trashed.  I will be moving the 90 gallon tank to a new spot and filling it back up and making it a fresh water tank.  Much easier on the wallet.

I got a kick out of every one's comments on my slippery squirrel post.  They still can't get up, but now 90 percent of the time there are woodpeckers on the feeders. At the moment there is a red bellied woodpecker and a downy woodpecker at the feeders and man can they eat.  I mentioned how hard it is to photograph birds. Well photographing fish is a whole other level of impossible.  I know it is easier to wait until night time to minimize the glares on the tank, but it doesn't get dark until so late.  So I took a few pics anyway.  I asked Brady to stand behind the tank and make a funny face for the "funny face" prompt for this week's scavenger hunt.  He was very cooperative, but I told him there were too many glares and he couldn't understand, but I still thought this picture was funny.

And of course Tiny didn't want to be left out of making funny faces....

Scavenger Hunt Sunday 4/15/12

I am once again joining along with Ashley of Rambling & Photo's Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  I am cheating big time this week and hopefully I will not get in trouble.  Instead of selecting one photo for several of the items chosen to photograph I posted lots of pictures.  I love putting lots of pictures together to tell a story and this week I did just that.  I promise next week I'll cut back and go back to one per item.  We just had a little too much fun getting pictures for the Scavenger Hunt this week to narrow them down to just five.

1. Simple
Playing chicken at the beach is a very simple game. The rule is to stand as close as you can to the edge of the water and to not let the waves touch your feet.

Tiny is a sore looser.

2. Grain

3. Transportation
Birds use wings for transportation.

But if you have a surf board...

and attach it to a kite. You can fly like a bird.

4. Stitch
I just finished knitting this "Springtime Bandit".  I used knit stitches and purl stitches. It reminded me of a peacock and this week we went to the zoo and saw lots of peacocks so I took some pictures of them.
This guy was not too excited to have his picture taken. I called him Bandit after my Springtime Bandit that I was knitting.
This peacock however was more cooperative in showing off his feathers.

5. Bubble

An Honorable Mention for Bubbles goes to Harley for putting up getting a bubble bath from the boys.
