Foggy Morning at the Inlet
This morning I had to run a few errands and at one point I had some time in between appointments and I decided to head to the inlet. I had my camera with me, but wasn't expecting to get many good pictures since it was so incredibly foggy today. But...
I discovered ducks love the foggy weather. I also discovered I love taking pictures in the fog. I love pictures with a lot of noise in them (that is code for grain). While most people try to edit out their pictures for perfect clarity sometimes I love to embrace the noise. Today was a perfect day for that.
Besides the seagulls in this post I am not sure what any of the other birds are. Although people asked me if I knew what they were. I told them unfortunately I wasn't sure what they were, but I had friends that did. So friends any clues???
There were so many ducks playing hide-and-seek in the fog. I knew they all looked very cool and I was hoping they would get closer so I could have a better look.
The seagulls of course were strutting their stuff.
Getting closer!
J walker hee hee
I can almost....
wait, No, come back.
Oh well. They won this time.
At least the seagulls were extra photogenic in the dense fog.
I'm not sure what this bird was, but it was VERY large. Unfortunately the pictures don't show off it's size.
Well I hope I didn't bore you with my pictures from the foggy inlet. I really did enjoy having a little photo time out today :)

Jersey Shore Saturday Morning
This morning Rudee got me up extra early. I didn't mind because I thought it would be nice to get a few cups of coffee and some knitting done before the kids woke up. Rudee and I cuddled on the couch and watched Animal Planet's Dog 101. We tried to determine what kind of dog she is. But in my opinion I think she is a combo of every kind of breed and she got all of their best qualities.
After two cups of coffee and some knitting I woke up Brady, Tiny was already up, and we headed to the farm for some early morning chores. I've been enjoying the colors of Fall so much at the farm. I couldn't resist taking some pictures this morning.
There was a mist coming off of everything this morning. It makes everything so pretty even an old gutter.
I love the view off the back deck. Unfortunately the alpacas didn't want to be out in the field for this nice photo opp.
The birds were happy to see me this morning.
After everyone was fed I packed the boys back up in the car and we headed to the beach. (the beach is a whooping 3.5 miles from the farm).
What is better than a Saturday morning in your PJs at the beach?
Maybe Saturday morning knitting? or...
Saturday morning donuts and coffee.
Sorry Rudee no coffee and donuts for you.
But don't feel too bad for her I saw her snag some of the boys Halloween treats this morning.
I hope you had a beautiful Saturday morning wherever you are.

Felt Balls
Tiny and I made some felt balls over the weekend. First we laid out the roving. Then we rolled it into a ball. Then we used felting needles to firm up the ball. Then we added a spiral to it with a different color. We lathered it up with soap and then washed it under the faucet. That was Tiny's favorite part! Then we let them dry and now they have fun new toys.
I am going to plan on putting these kits together with roving from my parents alpacas. I think it will be a fun project for the kids when they come visit the farm. It really is a simple craft and the kids really did enjoy themselves making them.
A Harley update. He is doing great! My mom came over and we changed his bandages and I didn't faint! He looks great and is getting more energy everyday. The boys have been taking good care of him and I think Harley finally appreciates them.
This morning we woke up to a fresh dusting of snow and it looks so pretty out. I am so close to finishing my Leaves of Grass. I worked on it while watching the Super Bowl last night. I think the power outage at the game was going to add just the amount of time I needed to finish, but when the game was over I couldn't keep my eyes open so I was off to bed. Tonight I'll finish. Fingers crossed.
In bird news. My birds are back! I moved my feeder to the front yard under a tree and the hawk hasn't figured it out so now every time I step out my front door I hear tons of birds chirping. I love it!
The only problem is the guard rail that is across from the feeder. It doesn't make for very pretty pictures.
