This morning I had to run a few errands and at one point I had some time in between appointments and I decided to head to the inlet. I had my camera with me, but wasn't expecting to get many good pictures since it was so incredibly foggy today. But...
I discovered ducks love the foggy weather. I also discovered I love taking pictures in the fog. I love pictures with a lot of noise in them (that is code for grain). While most people try to edit out their pictures for perfect clarity sometimes I love to embrace the noise. Today was a perfect day for that.
Besides the seagulls in this post I am not sure what any of the other birds are. Although people asked me if I knew what they were. I told them unfortunately I wasn't sure what they were, but I had friends that did. So friends any clues???
There were so many ducks playing hide-and-seek in the fog. I knew they all looked very cool and I was hoping they would get closer so I could have a better look.
The seagulls of course were strutting their stuff.
Getting closer!

I can almost....
wait, No, come back.
Oh well. They won this time.
At least the seagulls were extra photogenic in the dense fog.
I'm not sure what this bird was, but it was VERY large. Unfortunately the pictures don't show off it's size.
Well I hope I didn't bore you with my pictures from the foggy inlet. I really did enjoy having a little photo time out today :)

you've got brant geese and what looks to be a common loon in winter plumage. love the gull line-up!
Tex is right, as always!! Your images are just extraordinary Andee, the ones in the middle, more toward the end, of the seagulls in flight are just amazing!!
You should go to Longwood in April and see the tulips, it's the most beautiful thing you will ever see!!
Beautiful photos. The fog makes them look extra special.

Beautiful pictures- so lovely to see the sea...something I mess living in the mountains. Love how you captured the fog like that too...I can smell the salty air thru my puter :)
