School!!!

The boys love school!!!

Yesterday was their first day (Brady in 1st Grade & Tiny in Kindergarten) and we got off to a crazy start. New bus driver and new route meant we missed it at our stop, but caught up with it at our friends stop.  We rushed the boys crazily and confused on the bus and before we even got to take a picture they were gone!

I was nervous to what was going to happen when they got off the bus. But the moment they saw me through the window of the bus they were waving frantically and had glowing smiles.

They got off the bus to tell me how much the loved school! This morning Tiny got his backpack on 45 minutes early he was so excited about going back.  As soon as the bus showed up this morning they were off running to it without even a wave good-bye to me. I'm sure their enthusiasm won't last long, but I'm loving every second of it for now.

I've worked from home for the past six years.  Yesterday I spent the morning with the alpacas doing farm chores. Then got home and worked... uninterrupted! It was glorious. When they got home I had all my work done and I was able to spend more time with them. I loved school too :)

Again today I spent my morning with the alpacas and came home and worked. I am loving this new arrangement :)

Now will I be able to sneak in some design work??? I am not sure. I saw a few sneak peeks of Brooklyn Tweed's new patterns that will be released in a few days. I have two alpaca fleeces I need to spin. I think they might have be knitted up into this new collection! We'll see I'll talk to Blue about it :)

Last Week in Pictures

The boys will be finishing up school this week and then we are officially on Summer Vacation! I am very happy to turn off my alarm clock and no longer have to rush around from bus stop to school and back again. I have signed the boys up for an art class this Summer, which hopefully will minimize the amount of messes they currently make with their projects in our house. Tiny and Brady had a sand block that they mined for gems. Or as they were convinced DIAMONDS!

I am just about done with my additional versions of my Standing Stone's knitting pattern. The other night my shoulder was hurting so bad from knitting that I set it down and decided to go on the computer and catch up on some Blogs. My shoulder really needed the break. I keep track of my rows with my counter. It was about 10:45 pm and all of the sudden I heard "Click, Click, Click"! Brady had come out of his room and onto the couch and started playing with my counter! EEEK! No worries though thankfully I remembered what row I was on, but you should have seen how fast I jumped up to that noise!

Brady's class had a play and he did awesome! He has never been one for standing in front of a group. He gets very shy and usually is like glue to me and won't participate, but this time he was loud and proud. He was all smiles during the play and in my opinion was the best cat ever!

I got myself a gift. I bought a bracelet from A Bit of Nature. I'll admit it was a Pinterest impulse buy. I saw it and new I had to buy it. I think it will be great to photograph with some of my upcoming patterns. I love it! I tried getting a picture with my boys to give as a gift to Freddy for father's day but they didn't want to participate so I took a picture of me wearing it instead :)

Freddy has been helping the boys learn to ride their bikes without training wheels. They are doing great! I am not sure if I am much of a help in that department, but I enjoy watching them learn and taking pictures of flowers in the mean time. Freddy took the peddles off one of the bikes and they are learning to ride down hills and keep their balance. They love it! Brady is peddling now without training wheels. I think one more round of practice and he will be very hard to keep up with. Tiny isn't far behind.

Happy Father's day to all the fathers out there especially to Freddy and my Dad and my father-in-law! I hope you all have a wonderful Day!

Is This a Good Idea? I Think So?

Brady goes to two schools. He goes to one school five days a week for 2 hours and 20 minutes in the afternoon.  He goes to a Pre-K at another school twice a week in the morning.  If you ask him if he likes school he will tell you "I don't like going to two schools. I only want to go to one school."  Lately dropping him off at this Pre-K school has been like dropping off a two year old that doesn't want to leave his mom. Only he isn't two he is five.  He clings to me and cries. It has gotten worse every drop off since Easter. So today Freddy and I decided he doesn't have to go to two schools anymore. He only has to go to one school.  When I told him he was so happy I thought he was going to explode. So hopefully we made the right decision.

My fear now is that Tiny is going to fight going since he and Brady get dropped off at the same time.  I have a feeling it is all going to work out fine, but man was I nervous about making that call about not sending him anymore.  Mostly because after I drop him off I know he does cheer up and join the class. But I know he is going to be so much happier.  Plus it will give us some one on one time twice a week. Which I know I won't get once he starts Kindergarten :(

Over the weekend we stopped by the farm.  My parents were putting in a new waterer for the alpacas and the grandkids put their handprints in the wet cement.
Even Harper the dog got his foot print in there.

My mom has been busy working on the fleeces in her basement. I got to take a look at Blue's.

Isn't it awesome! I love it.

My mom has been getting some of the fleeces ready for spin-offs.  She takes a smaller sample of their entire fleece and she will send them into competitions and a person will judge the fleece from appearance and then spin it and it gets all different points for different qualities.

This is Lily's fleece. Doesn't it have a WOW factor.  Also in Lily news we didn't think she was pregnant, but now that she is sheared we keep seeing movement in her belly. Maybe she is pregnant. The vet is going to check her out.  Fingers crossed that she is (she was bred, but her blood work showed she wasn't pregnant).  If she is pregnant she will be due this Fall.
If not she will be bred soon.

Here is Vauneese's fleece. I am thinking cardigan.

Vauneese is due to have her first baby in the Fall.

Reno's fleece is awesome. I love it.

Sweet little Jatoba's fleece is beautiful too.

 I love Maggie's gray fleece.

 I love gray!

Francesca's fleece is so soft I wish you could feel it!

So there are a few samples. There are more to go, but I thought this was a good distraction from working and my decision from this morning about Brady.  I really hope the boys adjust to the new schedule without any major problems.  We'll see. It is only for another four weeks so I think we can make it.
