Getting Closer

I tell myself every year that I am not going to take custom knitting orders in the month of December. And every year I give in and take custom orders.  I got an order for one of my reversible arrow hats. I really love making them even though they are very time consuming.  This one is for a hunter. I used a mixture of Eco Baby Alpaca Yarn in a rose gray and two shades of Cascade Yarns Eco Duo. All the yarn is natural and undyed. I love seeing how the colors come out in the hat. My pictures don't do this hat justice, but I'll get better shots once it is done.  I still have to knit the inside to make it reversible.

Back to knitting gifts. I make these Cabled Legwarmers from a Debbie Bliss pattern.  I also made a Baby Cabled Hat.  The yarn is an ultra alpaca that was dyed by my sister Liz.  Both of these knits are fun to do and great if you are looking for a gift idea.

My mother has been spinning away at the farm. She made this beautiful yarn. It is a combination of merino and alpaca. The alpaca yarn is from my parents alpaca "Geneva". She is one of the females on the farm. She is such a sweetheart I can't wait to make something fun out of it.

I have some more fun projects to do before Christmas so I better get back to them.

Oh and I've been sewing too.  My boys really don't like me using the sewing machine. Brady insists it hurts his ears and tells me I should knit instead.

Those little legwarmers are adorable! I've been looking for a child-sized pattern to make some for my 5-year-old. I love the arrow pattern on that hunter's hat you're making.

Nice job! I can see why people want your stuff and why you stay busy with the orders.
