Looks Cold Feels Cold

Still no power besides the generator.  We are getting hit by a Nor'easter.  Now it looks as cold as it feels.  We have many friends and family that have not been able to move back into their homes after hurricane Sandy.  Many of our friends homes have been flooded.  Many more of our friends and family are still without power.

We could pack it up and head somewhere warmer, but there are enough factors keeping us home.  The boys are most comfortable here and so is Freddy and I. As long as the wood burning fireplace is working we are keeping much more comfortable then many other of our neighbors.

Keep warm everyone!

ps- we are hoping that huge maple in our front yard doesn't fall tonight like the other one did. we hope we parked our cars in safe places and will not be hit by falling branches tonight.

11/8/12 updated

No trees fell on our house last night!!! But there are a ton of limbs down.

The kids are so sad they can't go out to play in the snow. It is just too dangerous with all the broken branches.

We aren't expecting any plows.

Now we have to be worried about flooding. As the snow melts it has no where to go. It should drain off the end of the street, but there are too many branches and trees.  So as it melts it will back up into our driveway and fingers crosssed it will go in the yard and not the house.

No water don't come down our driveway!

Oh yeah and we still don't have power.

As beautiful as these pics are, I am sure this is the last thing that needed to happen to you and your neighbors at this time. Stay warm and safe, prayers always with you!!

Oh it is always hard to believe something so beautiful can also be so destructive and unsettling for others who are dealing with it. Be safe and keep warm. B

I'm glad you have a wood stove, but I sure hope you get power (and a break in the weather!) soon.

Glad you are prepared and have some heat and a generator. I've viewed the devastation on TV and it's terrible.
