Tutorial Tuesday- Watermarking

This week's tutorial is about Watermarking.

I have been watermarking my images since I saw a picture of my son on an Italian blog! My sister came across it about a year ago. The picture was of my son sitting on my couch in my living room holding an alpaca toy I knitting with yarn I spun from my parents' alpacas.  I could possibly understand it if it was a product I had purchased and they shared, or if I had been somewhere and posted it and they used it.  But there was nothing about the picture that had anything to do with the Italian blog.  Fortunately it was a very nice article (so I am told I couldn't read it because it was in French).

So I was very glad to see Tuesday Tutorial was about Watermarking. I know not everyone does it and I'm glad to see support of it for my online images.

I take so many pictures for friends and family that I never share online. I don't want them to be upset if someone steals them and uses them in other places.

I have taken a few precautions to safeguard my images. I watermark them and I have also put a code on my blog so that you can not right click the images and copy them.  If I can find the tutorial how to do it I'll post it here. But right now I can't find it and I have to head out.

Since I do a lot of pictures for my parents farm I make up a logo for the farm too.

I did a photo shoot for a friend of mine who is having twins.  I played around with some
different watermarks.

I got the idea for the above shot from here.

Thanks Ashley and Sarah I 'm going to miss TT.

a blogger pal of mine recognized my dogs on a blog in brazil last year. this blogger had lifted several of my pups' pics and a few sky shots, too. she did remove them after i contacted her, but since then, i mark my photos as well. mine are not worthy of stealing, yet, ask first or give credit.

You know the placement of the watermark is also important, if on the bottom it can be cut out. Love your watermarks. Cheers

Love your watermarks but Kaylene makes a good point. I am thinking about it much more often now that I have a little one to protect.
