Karate Chop & A Party

My boys have been working hard all Summer on their Karate skills. They go to class twice a week and have been learning so much. Karate at this level isn't all about the kicks, punch, blocks or falls. It has a lot to do with building confidence and life skills.  The boys have their white belts, but are working very hard to earn their black belts.

The boys have been learning how important it is to exercise, eat healthy and feel confident. For the parents of the students we get to be entertained by the instructors questions and hearing all the kids answers.

I am thrilled with all the good choices my kids have been making since they started karate. As a parent I can tell them something and it seems to go in one ear and out the other, but to have their instructor tell them the same thing they take it much more seriously.  Such as the fact that Tiny doesn't drink juice anymore. At karate they learned their bodies are made up of water so fill it up with water and not juice. They just had to be told once! Now if they took going to bed at their bed time as seriously!

The boys just had their Summer Karate Pool Party at the Oak Tree Lodge. They kids had so much fun. I was amazed at how many kids were there and how amazingly respectful all the kids are.  Talk about a lot of kids with patience, focus and great attitudes!

In case you haven't been to the Oak Tree Lodge I took lots of pictures around the place. It was SO much fun.

Of course Freddy & I played some corn hole.

Of course there was a belly flop competition!

If you are thinking about having your kids do karate I highly recommend it!
