Temperate Hat & Friday Stuff

Another pattern I test knitted was released yesterday. It is the Temperate Hat. I really enjoyed making this hat. I actually made two of them. Also for the record I took entirely too many selfies the other day. I went through entirely too many pictures of myself, yikes!  But really the hats don't look the same laying on the table. Thank goodness for tripods and remote shutters.

The gray hat is done with Sweet Fiber Yarns Silk Cashmere Aran. Soft doesn't even begin to describe this yarn it is dreamy.

The redish, green mixed one I made with Malabrigo Twist in the colorway Liquid Amber.

The pattern calls for the cables to go up the back when it is worn. I was a rebel and wore them to the side.

I believe I will be making more of these hats plus the other one I posted and I will have them for sale at the farm. I also think I will be adding them to my Etsy shop since I have had a lot of requests for my hand knits. I think I'll be posting what I have for sale at the end of the month. I'll keep you posted.

In other Friday news. I had to take the boys to the dentist. Brady needed sealers on his molars and Tiny needed a frenectomy.  I have known for over a year that he has had to have this done and I have been dreading this appointment. His fernum (the small piece of tissue the goes from inside the lip  to the gums in-between the front two incisors) was very very tight. So tight his top lip didn't move. So today he had to have it cut. He was so brave and sat perfectly still and the dentist got the job done.

After we left the dentist I told Tiny the reason the dentist had to do that to his lip was so that he could talk better. For the rest of the day my typically very shy kid around strangers announced to everyone he met very proudly "The dentist cut my lip with a pointy thing and now I can talk!"

He was getting such a kick out of moving his top lip he was cracking me up.
I am very glad I didn't give him any heads up about the procedure. I am so glad it is over and I am so glad to see Tiny so happy about being able to talk now.

After the dentist appointment we came home and I got some work done and Rudee was begging to go outside. She wanted to lay on the deck and sun bath. So I decided to bring my knitting outside and keep an eye on her. I can't let her out by herself because she can sneak through the fence. Although she doesn't really try we still have to keep a close eye on her. I also enjoyed the excuse to knit during the day! Even if it was only for twenty minutes.

I left my yarn on the chair and ran inside quickly to check my work email. Within seconds Rudee came running through the house with my Coyote Trail Shawl on my needles and yarn dragging behind her. You have no idea how fast I ran to catch her. She made it under Tiny's bed with her prize and luckily I was able to get it from her without a stitch out of place!

How could I ever get mad at her cute little face. I think she felt bad and hasn't tried to get my yarn again.

In exciting news look at what I got in the mail!

A prize I won from My Sister's Knitter KAL. I won a skein of Tosh Light. I love it!!! Andi who runs the Ravelry group is some what of a sock knitting junkie. I think I will have to make myself a pair of socks. I have never made myself socks before. I have made them, but never for myself.  I can't wait to get them casted on.

Saturday we are heading to the Laurita Winery Harvest Festival. We went last year and had so much fun (you can see my post about it here). We have been looking forward to going back all year!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Ah, what a strong little one, Tiny is!
Glad to hear that you got some knitting in. 20 minutes of knitting is better than no knitting any day.
Can't wait to see what you knit with the yarn. Whatever it is, it will be beautiful.
Your pups makes my heart swell!
