Sparkle Yarn

Since I finished up my Leaves of Grass I have been kind of aimless knitting (here's my last post that has new pictures of my Leaves). I am not sure what to work on.  I had a few custom orders that I finished up and a few birthday gifts.  I blew my yarn budget on Harley's surgery, so I am sticking to knitting with my stash.

I made a hat and fingerless gloves for my niece for her birthday. I wanted to make her fingerless gloves because I think they are so handy for little kids.  Especially since they can't seem to put down an iPad, Nintendo DS, or playing games on cell phones.  Also they are handy for quick snacks.  I didn't have a little girl around to model the hat and gloves for me so I asked Tiny to wear them for me.  I also asked him to play with his video game to show how handy the fingerless mitts were.  He didn't want to play it for the pictures.  I couldn't believe I was insisting he played a video game.

Oh Tiny.

I asked him again if he would play his video game so I could take a picture. He told me "Mommy these gloves aren't for video games they are for booger pickers."  Oh dear.

He really did it.

I was planning on making him a pair in boy colors and without the sparkle, now I'm second guessing if boys should have fingerless mitts.

I made a newborn hat for a friend. I used Cascade Eco Duo yarn. I love how soft Eco Duo is.

I also made another Toddler Hat out of Eco Duo plus some Eco Baby for the white edge.

Freddy is wearing a reversible hat I made out of natural alpaca yarn.  It was supposed to be an item I was going to sell. I brought it with us sledding so I could get some pictures of it. I forgot to get pictures and I am not sure where it got placed after our sledding trip, so it looks like it is now in our inventory. Oops.  These hats sell like hot cakes at the farm.

I started knitting an Imogen Cowl last night with this Madelinetosh yarn.  Clearly I didn't read the yardage correctly and I will not have enough. I think I will have to Frog it. Ugg that will be the second time I have to Frog an Imogen Cowl. I really want to finish it one of these days. I've been keeping an eye out for the perfect yarn to make it.  I think instead of the Imogen Cowl I'll use this yarn to make...... oh I can't decide.
