I'm not sure why but every time I look at this picture I laugh.
It is supposed to be very cold this week. With temps only in the teens we have lots of firewood ready. I have been knitting away on my Leaves of Grass. The colder temps lately have kept me inside a lot so not too many pictures to post.
But yesterday I had a photographers stupid moment. I always take my camera with me. I had to run to the store to pick up a gift for a birthday party we were going to. I knew what I was going to get so it was a quick mindless trip. Just a card and a gift. Since I was just running down the road I left my camera at home. And it there was my stupid mistake.
I got home and stepped out of the car to hear the loudest screeching. I looked up to see two bald eagles fighting mid air in my back yard. I couldn't decide if I should just stand there and watch this possibly once in a lifetime event or run inside to get my camera. I decided to watch. It was amazing. The two eagles must have been fighting over territory. They would fly away from each other and then collide mid air. Finally I decided to run in the house and grab my camera. I tossed everything out of my hands, ran upstairs, grabbed my camera and ran out of the deck. They were gone. Dope.
But I did see off in the distance one of them flying by. So I got a crummy picture. I wish I had brought my camera with me. I would have gotten some awesome action shots instead of a blurry flying away out of focus shot. Ugg. Lesson learned.
ps- do you know why geese fly south for the winter?
because it is too far to walk :)

thanks for the chuckle. i'm just jealous you got to see the eagles, much less photograph them. :)
I've learned that lesson actually more than once. LOL! The one time you don't have a camera will be the one time you see something awesome. I'm glad you got to witness it, though! I rarely see eagles.
always remember (which i sometimes forget) you phone camera, those work well in a pinch!!
love that first shot, made me laugh...but not your joke, that was just silly ;))))
