Shear Magic

Today was shearing day at the farm.  I am exhausted, but I wanted to share some pictures of the fleeces.  I'll do a whole series of before and afters of all the alpacas, but for now I had to share their beautiful fleeces.  All of the alpacas are feeling so much better with their hair cuts.

All of the following pictures are SOOC (straight out of the camera, no editing or cropping). All the fleece will be turned into yarn and roving.  And all the alpacas will now enjoy the warm summer days much more with their heavy fleeces off.

Awan was so happy to get his hair cut.  He was feeling a little too over dressing in his fleece for May.

All the fiber in the picture below was just from one side of his neck! That's a lot of fiber.

All the fiber will now get skirted and shipped to the fiber mill.

Loved seeing these pics and the process. Someone looks a lot happier now that they've had a haircut. :0)

Look at all that lovely fleece! Love seeing how this is done and of course, how cute with the "haircut." :)

Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursdays this week.

Oh, how neat! Do you live close to a fiber mill? You've probably posted on this before, but I'm very interested how you got started in this!
