Bird Feeders

I have been in awe of Debbie's pictures of her birds.  She has feeders set up outside of her office window at her home and she photographs some of the most marvelous birds I've ever seen.  I work from home and spend most of my day sitting at the dining room table working.  I have a large window to my left and my view is of a dirt pile and a tractor covered with a tarp.  I see a lot of bird and squirrel activity and I have thought it would be so nice to put some feeders up so I can see more birds.  So finally I got some.  I purchased a variety of seed and I decided to mix it up to see what was most popular amongst my resident birds.  Apparently anything goes.  They seem to love it all.
We have been doing a lot of work on our property so I put the feeders on some movable shepherd hooks so we can move them easily.  Freddy did not seemed to be as excited about my bird feeders as I did, but after spending a little time outside and seeing all the amazing birds I think he is coming around.
The boys have had a stomach bug for the past few days. They were so sick it was horrible, but tonight they finally seemed to be doing better.  I hope we made it though this rotten bug it was not a fun past few days.
Since the boys were feeling a little better we decided to go outside to check on our feeders.  They have only been set up for a few days, so we wanted to see what kinds of birds were stopping by.  The boys wanted to hold food in their hands to feed the birds, so I gave them a little tray and they picked up some seed and sat patiently hoping the birds would eat from their hands.

I do not know many types of birds, but I am hoping to change that.  I had to look up just about all of these birds on the Internet. I am so pathetic.  So please correct me if you see me labeling any of these birds incorrectly also feel free to tell me what the ones are that I don't know.

Also since I don't have a fancy camera I have to be like ten feet away from all the birds to take their pictures, so I mostly got the friendly ones.  The cardinals didn't want to get to close, those buggers.
Above is a Chickadee.  I love how cute these little birds are. Below I photoshoped a Chickadee.

I don't know what kind of bird this is below. But it is very friendly.

These are two of the feeders I got.  There is an American Goldfinch perched putting on a show for the boys.  The cardinal on the bottom didn't like to hang around like the Goldfinch.

Below is a Downy Woodpecker.  The only reason I new what kind of bird this was because Debbie just had a picture of one on her blog.  Otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue what it was.

Downy Woodpecker
My good friend the Goldfinch.  Every time I look out the window I see a Goldfinch. I wish I could have a speaker set up so I can hear him singing, while I'm in the house.  He stayed within a few feet of the boys singing his songs.  Brady is getting very good at whistling and he was trying to mimic the Goldfinch. He was having so much fun.  It was so nice to get outside into some fresh air after being sick.

A Morning Dove also very friendly.

I think this is a Titmouse.  The picture is kind of blurry, but I'm pretty sure that is what it is.  Very cool looking fellow.

A White-Breasted Nuthatch.

And some purple flowers for Debbie to thank her for all of her blogging help she had given me!

And some pretty flowers just for fun.

Well that was about fifteen minutes with our feathered friends. We saw many more types, but I didn't get pictures of them all.  There is always tomorrow.

You've already attracted a lot of birds to your feeder. I think you and your family will have fun watching and photographing them.
Aren't the Goldfinches lovely?
