Blue Ribbons

Now that I am officially an alpaca owner Freddy and I decided we need to have a name for our herd.  Okay so we only have one alpaca, but maybe someday Blue will get a friend then we will have a herd.  Either way we decided to name our herd "Muddy Boot Alpacas". Isn't it fun to say Muddy Boot!  So this weekend there was a very big alpaca show up in Syracuse, New York. The Empire Alpaca Trifecta and I entered some of my pictures into the photo contest.  I entered my pictures under my farm name Muddy Boot Alpacas. My sister entered some of her pictures to the contest under Arrow Acres Farm.  The contest only allows you to enter one picture per category per farm.  So how did Muddy Boot Alpacas do at our first contest this weekend....

So for Muddy Boot's first time in an alpaca competition we came away with 1 judges choice blue ribbon, 3 first place blue ribbons, and 1 third place. I am so excited I just can't stand it!

Of course I have to mention that all the alpacas are at Arrow Acres Farm.  Somehow Blue didn't get into any of them.  Maybe next year Blue.

Oh and my humor shot didn't get any awards, but I hope it gave the judges a good laugh.

Alpacas Magazine

A photograph I took is on the cover of the 2011 Autumn Edition of Alpacas Magazine.  It is in stores now so if you see a copy of it you can buy it for yourself!  The picture is of Tiny walking Sanda.
I am so excited because Sanda will be attending the NJAC Alpaca show this weekend. It will be his first time in the ring. I am so excited for him.
I told Tiny we are going to an alpaca show this weekend. I told him there were going to be a lot of alpacas there. He said, "is it an alpaca party?" I told him yes. Then he asked, "are they going to get toys and sing Happy Birthday?"  I told him no. He seemed disappointed.

This photograph of Sanda just won First Place and Judges Choice in Syracuse, New York at the 2011 Empire Extravaganza and will be on the cover of the 2012 Empire Showbook.

Paper Airplanes

Last night we made paper airplanes. Instead of letting them go, the boys ran all over the house with them. They were very happy boys.

I was very excited to just find out that one of my photographs won first place and another one of my photos earned third place at the 2011 Empire Alpaca Extravaganza Photo Contest in Syracuse, New York.  My parents are at the show and they just called to let me know.  My father also won a first place ribbon for one of his photographs! I think my smile was just about as big as my boys smiles in the above picture.  I actually can't stop smiling.  I'm so glad other people like my photographs!
