Christmas Success

We did it!!! Christmas was wonderful. I hope you had a wonderful holiday.

The weather has warmed up so much! I have gotten a Spring cleaning bug. All our decorations our down. I've even ripped up carpets and taken down blinds. We better get some snow soon so I'll finally sit down and start working on some knitting patterns that are long over due to be released :)

Christmas Eve

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! All my hand knit gifts are washed, blocked and dry :) Presents are all wrapped ready to go to their recipients. Rudee Tudee is keeping her eye out for Santa. She asked for a large bag of bones. She has been a very good girl this year and I'm sure she is on the nice list.

The boys are bouncing up and down with excitement of Santa and I am so glad to have this wonderful time with my family.

Merry Christmas!

*I was inspired by this pattern, but I made several modifications from the original pattern
Tiny's Reversible Hat

yarn 1- black alpaca 100% natural undyed
yarn 2- wool / silk blend
I had selected the wool / silk blend because of the color. I thought it would look fantastic with my husband's, Brady's and Tiny's eye color.  This hat is reversible. Now Brady and Tiny have hats. I have to finish Freddy's before Christmas.

Andee's Dark Gray Scarf

This similar to the infinity scarf except it is not joined in the round.
yarn- Eco Baby Alpaca 100% natural undyed
needles- size 10 circular

Below I helped myself to some of my sister's hand dyed yarn. Thanks Liz. If I don't use it right away I'll post it on Etsy or return it to you. But I loved the colors and I couldn't resist helping myself.

I would like to wish everyone joining along with Ginny's Yarn Along the warmest Christmas wishes. Thank you for taking time to visit my Blog. I try to visit everyone's Blog on the Yarn Along (even if it takes me a week to get to everyone's link.)  I am so inspired by everyone's posts.
I am looking forward to Christmas Eve after all the presents have been wrapped and my needles have been set down (if I didn't finish knitting it, then it will be next years present).  I am looking forward to going to church with my family, watching my boys participating in the church live nativity seen (I wonder what part my boys will be this year), holding candles and singing "Silent Night".
Then going to my parents for a delicious dinner and then opening presents by a warm fire.
Only a few more days!
Merry Christmas
Andee

Santa Traded in the Sleigh for a Helicopter

We have been very lucky to be invited to what I believe is the world's greatest Christmas Party for kids.   We attended this party last year and I couldn't wait to go again this year.  The owners of this farm bring in a petting zoo, play Christmas music, they serve hot chocolate with whip cream and Santa comes in a helicopter and gives out toys to every child that attends.  If that is not enough they even have a fantastic playground.  Truly a magical night to most, but of course Tiny didn't get his nickname Tiny Terror on accident.  He cried and fussed the entire time. He didn't like that it was cold and he wanted everyone to get off the playground so he could have it to himself and he wanted nothing to do with the animals.  Leave it to Tiny to have no fun.  I didn't get a chance to get up close to many of the animals even though I was in awe of seeing a cashmere goat. I wanted to pet it so bad.  Every time I got close to the animals Tiny would start to scream because he wanted me to focus all my attention on getting the 50 kids playing on the playground off the playground. So to avoid a melt down in public I took pictures from distance.  I really, really, really wanted to pet the cashmere goat.

My nephew was very excited about the party. He didn't cry at all. He is a very good little boy.

The photo above I took last year. I am not sure who was more excited about seeing Santa the adults or the kids. This is my mother and sister holding Brady and Tiny.

And of course when we got home Tiny ran into the house as excited as can be to tell Daddy all about Santa Claus and how he came in a helicopter. He was jumping in excitement.  Gotta love 2 year olds.

But truly it was a magical night and I am so grateful we were invited and I am looking forward to next year!

No Carrots for the Reindeer

This morning Brady asked if he could make cookies for Santa. I told him we can make cookies. Then I asked him if he wants to leave carrots for Santa's reindeer. This is how the conversation went.

Me: "Brady do you want to leave carrots out for Santa's reindeer?"
Brady: "Santa's reindeer don't come in the house. They stay on the roof."
Me: "Santa can bring the carrots to the reindeer on the roof."
Brady: " I don't want to give the reindeer carrots they are mean."
Me: "They aren't mean."
Brady: "Yes they are. They are mean and they are mad. They are not nice I don't want to give them carrots."
Me: "No Brady Santa's reindeer are nice."
Brady: pointed to many of the reindeer figures we have around the house "look Mom they are mad."
Me: "They aren't mad that is just how they look. How about Rudolph from the movie he is a nice reindeer?"
Brady: "No Mom all the other reindeer are mean to him and make him go away and live in the snow. They aren't nice. I don't want to give them carrots."

So that being said I don't think Santa's Reindeer are getting carrots this year. Brady had a pretty good argument and I am not sure how to change his mind.

Reindeer Games

Don't tell Tiny that alpacas don't know how to fly.  He is training his alpacas to do just that.

Decorating

In my previous post I said I have been busy decorating.  I don't want to take all the credit.
