Picture Day

The boys got dressed up for picture day and I thought I might be able to take quick pictures of them at the bus stop. Unfortunately the bus showed up within a minute of us so I didn't get the pictures I really wanted, well at least of Brady. But non-the-less here are my boys.

Brady- 1st Grade

LOL this is Brady's "Don't Smile" face :)

For the Boys

Summer has been flying along! I can't believe we are half way through July. It is amazing how fast the Summer goes.  The boys have been loving the pool. They have been in Art Camp for the past two weeks. They are loving it. The Art Camp is right down the street from Chelsea Yarns so I am loving it and hating it at the same time. For the days I get to stop by and hang out in the yarn store I love it! For the days I have to drive by I am sad.

This past week I was asked by Chelsea Yarns and the Long Island Knitting Guild to come to the store for a private event. I brought samples of my hand knits and my patterns to Chelsea Yarns on Tuesday and set up a table.  Before I knew it there were over 50 woman (an entire bus load) in the store. They were trying on my knits and even showing me their works in progress with my pattern! It was so much fun. I was overwhelmed with how many pattern sales I had and how much support I got from all the wonderful woman that came! I also got to spend some time with Toby Roxane a wonderful and amazing knitwear designer!  She also had a trunk show and her knits are just beautiful! I didn't take pictures while I was there because it was CRAZY! But a very good kind of crazy :)

Back on the home front Freddy had to have a second surgery. He has a complication after the first surgery and now he is home recovering.  We are keeping our fingers crossed he will be all patched up and ready to go for our next camping trip.

My boys have requested hand knits!!! I am so excited. They usually tell me if I make them something they won't wear it. Tiny has requested a sweater and Brady has requested a puppy dog. So they each went into the yarn store and picked out yarn for their special projects. I look forward to working on them on our next camping trip. I am so excited to make things for them. I really hope Tiny likes his sweater. He really wants a red sweater. But there wasn't enough red in stock, so he though orange was great too. If he wears the orange one I am going to make him a red one too!

I'm busy working on a new design so I don't have many progress pictures to show at this time.  But I can say I am loving it!  Now just to find the time to work on it!!!

Last Week in Pictures

The boys will be finishing up school this week and then we are officially on Summer Vacation! I am very happy to turn off my alarm clock and no longer have to rush around from bus stop to school and back again. I have signed the boys up for an art class this Summer, which hopefully will minimize the amount of messes they currently make with their projects in our house. Tiny and Brady had a sand block that they mined for gems. Or as they were convinced DIAMONDS!

I am just about done with my additional versions of my Standing Stone's knitting pattern. The other night my shoulder was hurting so bad from knitting that I set it down and decided to go on the computer and catch up on some Blogs. My shoulder really needed the break. I keep track of my rows with my counter. It was about 10:45 pm and all of the sudden I heard "Click, Click, Click"! Brady had come out of his room and onto the couch and started playing with my counter! EEEK! No worries though thankfully I remembered what row I was on, but you should have seen how fast I jumped up to that noise!

Brady's class had a play and he did awesome! He has never been one for standing in front of a group. He gets very shy and usually is like glue to me and won't participate, but this time he was loud and proud. He was all smiles during the play and in my opinion was the best cat ever!

I got myself a gift. I bought a bracelet from A Bit of Nature. I'll admit it was a Pinterest impulse buy. I saw it and new I had to buy it. I think it will be great to photograph with some of my upcoming patterns. I love it! I tried getting a picture with my boys to give as a gift to Freddy for father's day but they didn't want to participate so I took a picture of me wearing it instead :)

Freddy has been helping the boys learn to ride their bikes without training wheels. They are doing great! I am not sure if I am much of a help in that department, but I enjoy watching them learn and taking pictures of flowers in the mean time. Freddy took the peddles off one of the bikes and they are learning to ride down hills and keep their balance. They love it! Brady is peddling now without training wheels. I think one more round of practice and he will be very hard to keep up with. Tiny isn't far behind.

Happy Father's day to all the fathers out there especially to Freddy and my Dad and my father-in-law! I hope you all have a wonderful Day!

Warmer Days

We decided to spend the kids Spring Break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We packed up our camper and headed south for warmer weather!

After the what feels like never ending Winter we were very happy to be greeted by warm sunny beaches and heated outdoor pools. Ahhhhhh so nice.

Pelicans

Some knights from Medieval Times popped by the campground to put on a show.  Such fun. We were cheering for the blue knight and he won :)

We went down to Myrtle Beach following friends of ours. When we got to the campground we met friends of our friends. Then our friend brought out a tug of war rope and within minutes we had even more friends :)

Tiny was running along the beach at low tide and hopping in little puddles.  He was in all his glory and he asked me, "Mommy do you wish you were a kid and could jump in puddles all day?" I told him if I didn't have my camera on me at that moment I would have joined him.

It was Rudee's first camping trip and she turned out to be a camping pro. She was a very good girl the whole trip.  For a 9 month old puppy she gets an A++.

I think we could spend all day looking for shark teeth. It is too relaxing. Ahhhh warm weather.

More puddle jumping.

Not a bad view from our campsite!

I was so impressed how Rudee would just lay back and watch dog after dog and bike after bike go by and she just chilled out as cool as a cucumber.  Such a good girl. Of course when we were out and about she got to play with lots and lots of dogs. I think she thought this was her vacation.

Our family really loves camping. This was our first trip with our camper and we were making plans the whole way home for our next trip. It took us 20 hours to get to the campground and it took us 15 hours to get back home. So we had time to think of a lot of plans :)  I can't express enough how much fun we had and how much I enjoyed spending so much time with my family.

I can't wait to go away again!!!
