My never ending scarf has finally ended!!! I haven't woven in a single end, but I think it is going to stay that way. I started my scarf one year ago. It has been my travel knit. I only work on it in the car waiting for the bus, in doctors offices, kids birthday parties...etc. I rarely did more than two rows at a time hence it taking so long. When it was finished I thought about how many socks I could have made in the time it took me to make it!
I photographed my scarf while wearing one of my original pullover designs "Pebble". I finished it a little while ago, but this is the first time I'm sharing it here. I have worn it quite a few times and I love it. I have the pattern together and I am working out a few modifications, but eventually I will release the pattern once I am perfectly happy with it. In the mean time I am loving wearing this test run. I figured since I will most likely be wearing this to Rhinebeck why not share it here.
For the scarf I used Isager Strik Alpaca 2. I loved working with this yarn. If you want to make one too. I used US1 needles (16" circular). I casted on 96 stitches and worked in the round until I ran out of yarn. The finished weight of the scarf is 7.9 oz / 223 grams. So I believe I used approximately 5 skeins of yarn. I am planning on putting together a little tutorial on how I managed the color jogs and I'll upload the pattern into Ravelry for free. I have had quite a lot of interest from people that want to make one. So as soon as I find the time I'll get that done.
In the mean time I am so excited about Rhinebeck!!!!! I can't wait to go. I can smell the apple cider donuts all the way from NJ. I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so excited!!!! I'll write more about my wish list for Rhinebeck in a future post.
Happy Knitting!!!
