Packing

Another pattern I test knitted came out yesterday. It is the Capilano Cowl.

This is a warm squishy cowl and I love it.

Just in case you think I have been knitting night and day I really haven't been knitting much at all. Besides my Celes all the knits I've been posting have been done for quite a while now. They are just finally being released so I can share them.

That brings me to the next part. I am going away this weekend! I am going to an alpaca show in Syracuse, New York. I am going with my parents. Rudee is going to stay home and keep an eye on Freddy and the boys. Our travel time in the car should be close to 10 hours round trip. That is ten wonderful hours of knitting, knitting and knitting. No kids to ask for anything just knitting. I'll have my Kindle and listen to my book.  Can you tell I am excited!!!

I have spent two entire weeks trying to determine what knitting I'll be bringing with me. I am still at the last minute trying to make up my mind. As for packing my clothes that took me about 25 minutes. I drove over to the outlets. Picked out a few new pairs of pants, shirts and sweaters. I took the tags off and put them in my baggage. I didn't even have to do a load of laundry.

Now back to what I am going to bring to knit. Oh it is such a decision. I have a few things on my needles, but I have to read the patterns. I don't do well reading in the car. I do much better when I can knit and look straight ahead. So I'm thinking of casting on something new. Maybe one of my original designs that is simple and I won't have to look at a chart? Or maybe some hats??? Or maybe a simple cowl and I can bring my spinning wheel and spin at my parents alpaca pen at the show. That way I won't have to worry about loosing my place. But maybe I won't have time to spin.

Do you see the drama that goes in planning on getting away! lol But really it is so hard to decide what to bring. I mean I get to knit at the hotel room at night. I can't miss out on this great opportunity.

I wish packing knitting projects was as easy as packing clothing.

Wish us luck this weekend. My parents will be showing two of their alpacas. But we are also taking 5 of our friends alpacas. So that is seven alpacas to show. I am sure it will be a fun and exhausting weekend. I am looking forward to seeing some other alpaca owners and I might even have to bring a few more of my test knits that haven't been released.  I am thinking the leaves are going to be gorgeous up there this weekend and that with hundreds of alpacas.... I see photo opportunity written all over it.

Here is a quick video I though my knitter followers might enjoy. I did a test knit for this book. I can't wait to share the finished project.  Just a few more weeks or so.
