I finished my Walk on the Moon shawl. I love this pattern and I know I will knit it again and again. I blocked it and was letting it dry. I had taken the boys out shopping for back to school clothes and shoes. We got home and I started dinner and realized it was getting dark and I only had a few minutes left to get pictures of it outside while there was still light. I raced outside with my camera, tripod and shawl. In my rush I realized I never cut the strands of my weaved in ends oops.
I'll take more pictures of this in better lighting, but I couldn't wait to show it off. I really loved this pattern and yarn. The stitches remind me of embroidery, which is so popular right now. The yarn is Shibui Cima. It is an alpaca and merino blend. It is dreamy. I got it at Chelsea Yarns. The pattern calls for three colors. I had bought two skeins of each color but I was determined to only use 1 skein of each. I made some adjustments and ended up with 3 skeins left over. Woo Hoo.
I had to laugh when I was taking these pictures. My husband always makes fun of me. It is kind of strange when I am out in the yard by myself taking pictures of my finished knits. Especially when there was a car parked in the cul-de-sac behind my house. They must have been waiting for someone to come out of the house, but I am sure they were looking at me like "what the heck is she doing???"
Have you heard the Never Not Knitting Theme Song. If you haven't you need to. And make sure to turn the volume up so you can hear all the side comments. My husbands favorite line is "oh she's taking pictures of socks again...oh poor girl." Oh yeah and one time we had to call the fire department because we thought our house was on fire and I did finish my row.
