I'd Rather be at Camp

Directions:
Turn right at the deli.
Turn left at the one lane bridge after the old barn.
Stay left at the "Children Playing" sign.
Keep driving until you see this.

Those are the directions to camp.

My father is a member of the Delaware Hunting Club located in upstate New York. Each year they have a Clam Bake the Sunday after Labor Day. It also happens to be the first Sunday of Pro Football.  This is the one Sunday we are willing to give up sitting in front of the TV watching the games to....

go fishing

catch frogs

catch newts

meet a grouse

name the grouse "Baby Chicken"

laugh really hard when Baby Chicken follows Uncle Nick around

hang out by the pond

take long hikes

look at the pretty flowers

take a picture of my current knitting project

go rock hopping

go rock hopping with some friends

"don't step on the wobbly ones"

think about why we don't come here more often

after a morning of fishing, hiking, rock hoping and exploring it is time to eat

I missed getting pictures of the clams, corn, shrimp and lots of other goodies. Above is the best chicken cooking over the charcoal.

no target practicing on Clam Bake day...too many people walking around

so after a long day it's time to find a comfy recliner

take a sip of your favorite drink

and claim your bunk

Thanks Dad for having us up to camp. We had a great time. Hopefully we can go up again soon and take some rides on the ATVs.
