Today is an overcast gloomy day here at the Jersey Shore. It is a prefect day to get a few projects done around the house. My yarn stash has started to overtake my desk and dining room table. I thought it was too pretty to put way in storage bins so I picked up some boxes today from Homegoods and mounted them on the wall. I love that now I can see all my pretty yarn. Some of it I have handspun, some my mother has spun, I've hand dyed some of it while other is store bought, and some is from my parents alpacas. I love seeing it and I know each box will change regularly as I work on projects and need the yarn. Plus I put a few little decorations up there too.
I think it is a nice touch to our Living Room. Also it is nice now that the Dining Room table is cleared off. I really like my cozy knitting corner. I know it is going to get a lot of use.
My house as been overrun with boys today. I have three of my nephews here and they are having fun playing. They have been in and out of the pool all day and taking breaks to watch some movies and then play baseball.
Oh and another thing to share. Last night I had the girls over for a yarn party. Some of us were knitting, some crochet and my sister Leanne was doing embroidery. Look at all those needles!
I stole this pic from my sister. She took in on Instagram. Yeah that is how us girls like to party :) |
And since my father has said my Blog is getting boring. (I blame that on all the knitting I've been doing lately). Here is a picture of me and my mom with Lily. The escape alpaca.
I am holding Lily after she decided to squeeze threw and itty bitty space between one of the gates. I have no idea how she fit through there. I watched her do it and I still can't believe it. My sister took the picture of us after we caught her. She is a funny alpaca. The gate she got through led to another field so she wasn't out on the loose thank goodness. There was another time she jumped out of van window. Again I have no idea how she did it, but thankfully she ran back to the other alpacas and she was easy to catch. Silly alpaca. Before her escape yesterday we were being entertained by the herdsires Smoke Ring, Blue and Kigo chasing each other around the field. They never got too rough, just playing who is Head Guy. Blue and Smoke Ring would run and run and then Kigo would run and break them up. It was very fun to watch since none of them were really getting out of line. I wish I took a video. Maybe I'll have to keep my camera with me next time. Farm work is messy and I don't like to get it dirty so I usually keep it in the car.
Well that is about all the excitement over here. I hope you are having a lovely weekend.
