I have been spending a lot of time at the farm lately. My parents have been in Las Vegas at the Priority alpaca auction. They said they weren't going to buy, but guess what? They bought two new girls! One is from Northern California and the other is from Tennessee (as soon as they come to the farm I'll post their pictures). It sounds like my parents had a great time at the auction and met lots of new and wonderful alpaca people. I had a great time last night watching the action live on my computer. I was texting my father while the auction was going on begging him to buy a certain one for me and they did! Well not because of me, it was just dumb luck. But I can't wait to meet her and try to find a way to buy her off my parents.
I spend a lot of time cleaning up after the alpacas these days and I'm thinking I do so much cleaning for only having one alpaca why not have two, or three, or oh they are so darn cute I want 20 for myself. Can you imagine all the yarn I'd have! Oh and poop.. sigh.
Lily loves climbing up on the hill and driving the boys crazy. She will be bred in the spring and I still have high hopes of buying her one day. She is such a sweet alpaca and I love her incredibly soft white fleece.
The pond has been frozen solid for a while now. When we were kids we did a lot of ice skating here. But unfortunately since I took this picture it snowed on top of the ice so not good for ice skating.
The tire swing looks so sad without any kids playing on it.
I've been knitting away on my Leaves of Grass. It is slow going, but has been a wonderful project. It has kept me sane as I worried about an operation my little niece had to have. But I am so thankful to say that she did extremely well and is home recovering. Children amaze me how strong they can be.
Thanks to Amazon Prime I was able to watch Season 2 of Dowton Abbey. Oh I just love love love that show. I am ready to watch Season 3 I'll have to figure out how I can get caught up since it is airing now. Humm. I have let myself get lost in the show. I really enjoy it so much. I want to name an alpaca Mr. Bates. Wouldn't that be fun? Or maybe Muddy Boot's Your-Lordship? Even better Muddy Boot's Your-Ladyship? hee hee hee
