It's a Girl!!!!

I need to give a huge congrats to my Sister-in-law, Brother-in-law, and nephew. They welcomed a new little girl into their family last night.  I have seen a few quick pictures of her and she looks beautiful.  We'll be packing up and heading up to see my new niece this weekend.  I'll be going with my camera and memory card empty and ready to load!

My sisters and I only seem to know how to make boys. My older sister has three boys, I have two boys, and my younger sister is expecting her first baby in a fall a boy! So to have a little girl is so exciting.  They waited to the birth to find out the sex of the baby. Being a knitter I just can't stand waiting. Since I didn't have any girl color yarn in my house and the anticipation was killing me I started this blanket.  Clearly there will be a trip to the yarn store today.

I am so excited to make her some cute little sweaters to wear this fall and some cute hats for the winter. Hooray for girl colors!

Oh and I thought this was funny and I thought everyone on the yarn along would enjoy...

Awww! Congratulations to you all.

You know, I've never been one of those people that buys into the whole 'boy' and 'girl' color thing. I think the colors in what you are knitting now are perfectly wonderful for a little girl. :-)
