(above) I made this ascot out of Cascade alpaca / merino yarn. I came up with this pattern by combining a few different techniques. I would have loved to photograph this on our manikin in the showroom, but I don't think I'll make it over to the farm today. So that picture will just have to wait. I named it the "Nice Ascot". I came up with the name after I told my sister I was working on something and I wasn't sure what it was. I didn't know if it was a scarf or maybe an ascot? She said "Nice ascot" and laughed. She had just watched Toy Story 3 and Barbie had just said to Ken "nice ascot". So I couldn't resist calling it Nice Ascot.
(above) I made this purple newborn hat out of alpaca yarn. My sister dyed the yarn. Friends of ours had a baby girl this week. They waited to find out what they were having, so I told them I'd make their present after the baby was born. I am terrible at gender neutral colors. I was so excited to make something girly!
(above) Grow with Me Hat. I made up the pattern for this hat. I wanted to do something with eyelets that I could pull a I-cord through. All the yarn is alpaca and my sister dyed the pink yarn.
(below) Newborn Hat. I made this hat with alpaca yarn dyed by my sister. A woman I know came to the farm last week looking for a little pink hat and we didn't have any, so she picked out this yarn and I made this hat for her. This is going to her granddaughter, who happens to be the daughter of someone I went to High School with.
(below) Brady's Hat. I made this hat with two yarns. The black yarn I hand spun. It is alpaca and Brady helped me spin it. I used a Navajo spindle. Brady likes to help spin it and he holds the spindle while I take the yarn off.
This is the Navajo Spindle I made and my Ashford niddy noddy.

I'm glad someone else was as amused as I was with the name, nice ascot. Hee hee
Love the lacy look of the scarf! Beautiful touch and the color of the yarn is so pretty.
Love the Grow with Me hat - too cute!
